Our Programs
The Focused Lens
Returning home after prison can feel like a sensory overload. The streets are loud, traffic is fast, and navigating daily expectations is overwhelming. The Focused Lens is a 4-week therapeutic photography series that uses basic point-and-shoot and smartphone cameras to help returning citizens slow down, manage stress, and regain peace of mind in public spaces.
Over four interactive sessions hosted at local parks, participants build practical tools for stress regulation and narrative ownership:
Week 1: Finding Calm in the Chaos (Micro-Groundedness & Close-Up Photography)
Week 2: Capturing Peace in a Fast World (Grounding & Observing Motion)
Week 3: Chasing Light (Finding Perspective & High-Contrast Photography)
Week 4: Reclaiming the Frame (Personal Agency & The Freedom Project)
Every module is designed to give participants an immediate, zero-cost coping strategy they can carry in their pocket on their smartphones. To meet organizations where they are, each week of The Focused Lens is available as part of our full 4-week series or as a modular, standalone 90-minute workshop.
